The site of the 2014 World Horticultural Expo, now a permanent botanical park on the Laoshan foothills with themed garden pavilions, a glass greenhouse, and lake scenery. Easily combined with a Laoshan visit on the same day.

A twin-spire Gothic Catholic church built by German missionaries in 1934, the largest Catholic church in Shandong province. An eye-catching landmark in the old district, a short walk uphill from Zhongshan Road.

Qingdao's largest traditional market, operating on specific days of the lunar calendar in Licun district. Stalls sell seafood, clothing, tools, and local snacks. An authentic local market experience away from the tourist coastal strip.

A dedicated beer-bar street in the Dengzhou Road area near the brewery, with open-air seating, draft Tsingtao, and northeast seafood skewers. Liveliest in summer during the annual Qingdao International Beer Festival.
